Until now, the airport used tractors, forklifts and trailers to maintain over 1 million square metres of concrete airside. When the time came to upgrade their equipment, the Multihog was the obvious choice due to its compact size, robust build and easy operation.

Liege initially saw the Multihog at the Inter-Airport show in 2011, and subsequently organised a live demonstration of the machine at their airport. During the demonstration, Liege realised that the easy operation of the Multihog would be very beneficial in an airport environment, considering up to 50 drivers would be using it during the winter season.

Airport plant manager Julian Pauwels says of the Multihog, “From the beginning the Multihog team were always available for us-answering our questions, organising bi-lingual training on-site as well as achieving an impressive delivery time. Our drivers are happy the machine is so well-built and easy to use-now they are just impatient to start working with it in the various environments”.

Another major factor in the airport’s purchasing decision was the combi snow-plough and brush attachment, which essentially transforms the Multihog into a 3-in-1 machine when combined with the 1200 litre de-icing unit on the rear of the machine.

These attachments allow the driver to carry out de-icing, snow brushing and ploughing from the comfort of the cab without the need to manually switch attachments. With this combination the airport can make significant cost savings on both equipment and personnel.
