Smiths Detection, part of global technology business Smiths Group,  has won a €12 million order to supply advanced X-ray cargo screening systems to Azerbaijan which is modernizing its customs services.  

The contract with the Caucasian republic comprises high energy HCV (Heimann Cargo Vision) systems designed to detect a range of explosives, weapons, drugs and contraband concealed in trucks, containers, vans and cars.

The Smiths Detection HCV G cargo screening systems featuring high performance viZual technology provide operators with detailed radioscopic images of containers or vehicles. The load contents are shown in the X-ray image with organic and inorganic material discrimination and colour-coding based on atomic number, giving rapid and reliable inspection results in a single scan.
