SABRE 5000 boasts best-in-class reliability and functionality

Toronto, Canada, September 12. 2011 – Smiths Detection today launched to the global market the SABRE 5000, the latest offering in its state-of-the-art line of handheld systems for detecting trace amounts of explosives, narcotics, chemical warfare agents or toxic industrial chemicals.

Jim Viscardi, Vice President of Sales, Smiths Detection, said: “SABRE 5000 is the smallest, most capable tri-mode detector available on the market today.  Its design was driven by our customers, who played a tremendous role in helping us determine exactly what tool first responders and security professionals needed.”

New key features for the SABRE 5000 tri-mode detector include an expanded vapor detection capability giving a wider range of substance identification, faster clear-down for better throughput and built-in troubleshooting for an improved user experience.  These new attributes, combined with the award-winning design and performance of the earlier SABRE 4000, provide a key tool in protecting the world’s critical infrastructures, ports and borders, transportation systems and military bases.

See a demonstration of the SABRE 5000 at Smiths Detection’s booths at Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEI) exhibition, 13-15, September, ExCel Centre in London and at ASIS International 2011, 57th Annual Seminar and Exhibits, 19-22 Orlando, Fla.
