During the installation process, the tower cabin and technical rooms were renovated without using a mobile tower solution.

The Kirkenes tower is a medium to small size tower with two operator positions. The installed ACAMS system is fully redundant with dual servers, dual networks and two 18" LCD screens in each position.

In addition to the standard ACAMS-modules, a standby/backup system for meteorological and navaid information is included.

Normal traffic operations was not disrupted during the installation process at Kirkenes.
