Brønnøysund Airport

The new Bronnoysund airport tower was completed with a ACAMS installation in November 2001.
The Broennoeysund tower was the first tower in Norway which was designed specifically for a ACAMS solution with no service pit in the tower cabin.

The spacious tower cabin has two independent positions with two and three 18" LCD screens with common brightness control. Only one keyboard is placed in each position, and the operator may select freely to input parameters using either the keyboard, the mouse or the touch screen.

Apart from the high contrast & ultra high resolution screens, no technical equipment is placed in the tower cabin. This makes the cabin extremely quiet and no heat is dissipated from PC's and other electronic equipment.
The operator consoles are two single ACAMS EOPS (Ergonomical Operator Position) consoles which enables operator equipment to be positioned with a very high degree of flexibility.

Electric motors enable the operator to adjust the console height to his/her preference.

Navaid and meteorological data is fed from the ACAMS system into a WAN and transferred to Bodoe ATCC. Here, the data is displayed in real time at several controller positions providing approach and departure service for the airport.

Normal traffic operations were not disrupted during the installation process at Broennoeysund. This was made possible by the unique system architecture of the ACAMS system.

ATIS: Semiautomatic. Data extracted from ACAMS database automatically.
Video surveillance/ entrance control: Surveillance camera and remote control for tower entrance door.
External alarms: Burglary alarms / recorder alarms / etc.
