ALSTEF install the 1st Cross-Belt Sorter in France for a Baggage Sorting Application at Basel-Mulhouse Airport

Following a call for tenders, EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg selected ALSTEF to support its growth and the development of the airport’s baggage sorting system.

The automatic high-speed cross-belt sorter, enabling sorting of baggage on 34 chutes, was installed mainly to increase the capacity of the baggage sorting system and complete its automation.

The installation of this type of sorter for a baggage sorting application is a first in France. This sorter can process up to 8,000 bags per hour, depending on the configurations.

The commissioning has been completed without interrupting operations.

The sorting system is monitored by the software developed by ALSTEF, BAGWare®, which includes complete automation, supervision and IT solutions.
