ARINC - Airport Systems Integration Services

Company ARINC
Date 23.11.2010

ARINC Incorporated will demonstrate five advanced passenger handling solutions that support the Fast Travel Initiative of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) at this week’s aviation industry conference, Check-In Asia 2010, November 24–26 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

ARINC will showcase its web-enabled common use baggage drop and check-in applications—ExpressDropSM, ExpressCheckSM, and OnVoySM—as well as its SelfServSM CUSS kiosk solution and VeriPaxSM Passenger Reconciliation System.

The IATA Fast Travel Initiative was developed to provide an enhanced travel experience for passengers by providing more self-service options, giving them better control over their journey and enabling them to complete the airport formalities faster. ARINC, a strategic partner of IATA for over 20 years, is supporting this program with its latest suite of solutions.

ExpressDrop enables a single agent to check in baggage for passengers on multiple airlines in a single queue, even without code-sharing. The agent can accept bags and print correct baggage tags for multiple airlines via a common graphical interface at a single location. This common baggage drop solution complements ARINC’s web-based ExpressCheck and OnVoy solutions, two remote check-in applications that allow airline agents or ground handlers to check in passengers on multiple airlines at locations such as hotels, convention centers, and train stations. ARINC’s SelfServ solution for common-use kiosks gives passengers another convenient option for self check-in, and can be deployed in open public areas of the terminal or near the airline check-in desks.

ARINC’s VeriPax solution enables self checked-in passengers to move straight to a security checkpoint by validating their boarding passes against airline host systems. This determines in a matter of seconds whether they are cleared for entry into the transit area. VeriPax validation speeds up passenger processing and reduces durations while streamlining passenger flow through the airport.

“Passengers today are becoming more tech-savvy, and are constantly expecting new and more convenient check-in methods to help streamline their travel experience,” stated Jim L. Martin, Managing Director of ARINC Asia Pacific. “ARINC is eager to display its latest suite of airport solutions at Check-In Asia, and to show how they can help airports streamline check-in while adhering to IATA’s Fast Travel initiatives.”

Mr. Martin will also moderate a conference Working Session, “Security, Immigration and Facilitation,” on Thursday, November 25, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.

Check-In Asia is a platform for travel industry stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region to make the best possible decisions regarding the evolution of their passenger and baggage processing methods to improve the whole passenger experience.
