Manila, Philippines—ARINC Incorporated has been awarded a contract by the Manila International Airport Authority to enhance the passenger check-in services at Terminals 1 and 2 of Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

ARINC will install its industry-leading vMUSETM passenger check-in platform at the airport’s two main terminals, and will support the check-in applications of 28 international airlines at NAIA with the most advanced common-use passenger processing, including (CUPPS) technology.

“With the steady increase of air travel in the Philippines, we are constantly striving to enhance the passenger experience and airport operations at Ninoy Aquino International Airport,” said Mr. Tirso G. Serrano, Assistant General Manager for Airport Development and Corporate Affairs, Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA). “We believe our association with ARINC is another step in this direction. The vMUSE system, being CUPPS compliant, will help us save operational cost and at the same time provide efficient and secure check-in procedures,” he added.

ARINC recently won the contract to supply the new passenger systems and provide 24×7 service-level maintenance support for the airport. The installation includes 84 check-in counters and 15 boarding gates in Terminal 1, and 40 check-in counters and 6 boarding gates in Terminal 2.

“Airports are constantly looking for new ways to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction, while at the same time managing costs,” stated Randy Pizzi, Vice President and Managing Director of ARINC’s Asia Pacific Division. “Our vMUSE technology will provide NAIA with a scalable and cost-effective common-use platform to upgrade its operations, and we are very pleased to be awarded this contract.”
