New S8: Clear Detection Revolution
The detection of shiny or transparent objects is one of the most critical situations in packaging applications.
Current application solutions involve the installation of a system based on polarized retroreflex sensors and its reflector or ultrasonic sensors.
|
With patented breakthrough technology, the new S8 Shiny sensor can now detect shiny and transparent objects by means of a photoelectric sensor with background suppression.
This innovative solution makes it possible to resolve the application by eliminating the limitations of current sensors in the presence of reflective background: – No need for a prismatic reflector – No mechanical constraint – Highest depth of field
Glass and plastic items such as bottles, packaging films and so on, can be easily and immediately detected by an easy-to-install sensor, high performance and suitable in terms of costs!

Datalogic Automation: EVERGREEN Company
Environmental protection has always been one of the essential values of Datalogic Automation.
Since 1999, the Company has been one of the first to be certified ISO14001 in Italy and in 2008 joined the project "Company MicroKyoto" for the reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
Today the best outcome for the Company on this front is the Integrated Quality and Environment System, that is the result of investments made over the years for the technological upgrading of production facilities and the adoption of strict rules and behavioral habits. In particular, the activities carried out during 2010 has led to obtain excellent results in terms of reduction of CO2 emissions:
• In the production area, the replacement of electric motors with new higher energy class elements and the replacement of operating compressors with high efficiency products have reduced CO2 emissions of more than 36 tons per year in the atmosphere. More than this, we can add another 35 tons that are the result of replacing more than 350 lamps with the same number of energy-saving lights.
• The shuttle service for employees is important not only because it can facilitate people to reach the workplace, but above all, it reduces more than 36 tons of Carbon Dioxide emissions annually into the environment.
• In the office besides the adoption of eco-label paper for printing, the installation of new printing centers led to a 20% reduction in paper consumption per year.
In the up-coming months, Datalogic Automation’s Plan of Environment continues with a complete review and the resulting power factor of electrical and ventilation devices, in addition to complete replacement of the remaining lamps.
In the next Dataletter@ we will talk about new products and energy savings!

Partner Training Roadshow in North America
Recently Datalogic Automation held a 5-city Partner Training Roadshow. Partners were able to visit shows in Hebron, Kentucky, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dallas, Texas, Minneapolis, Minnesota and Nashville, Tennessee.
|
Partners were able to choose classes that ranged from “hands-on” training for the new MATRIX 410™ to Sensor Applications to Light Curtain Product Presentations. The training, a first for Datalogic Automation in North America, was a success as over 100 partners attended the 5 shows. “This is a critical part of our success.” said Darrell Owen, President of Datalogic Automation in North America. “Our Partners are our focus, so offering training on our products by our experts, helps them in their job as they become more comfortable with all of our product line.” Datalogic Plans to offer more training later this year at their offices in Hebron, KY. |
