BP’s global aviation fuelling business, Air BP, announced today that it has entered the U.S. general aviation business as a direct fuel supplier to Fixed-Base Operators (FBOs), business aviation companies, and other direct aviation customers and airfields coast-to-coast.

“Air BP is one of the world’s largest suppliers of aviation fuels and our U.S. customers know us primarily through our commercial and military direct sales organization,” said David Wade, Vice President of Air BP North America. “With today’s announcement we are growing our business by applying the same direct approach to our relationships with general aviation customers that we have taken with commercial customers, with whom we have forged many global strategic partnerships lasting for decades.”

Air BP had previously supplied the U.S. and Canadian general aviation industry through a joint venture license agreement with Epic Aviation LLC. That license agreement concluded on February 15th.

“We plan to share our commercial, military expertise in the distribution and handling of aviation fuels with general aviation customers throughout North America,” said Jose Bolivar, Director of Air BP’s North American General Aviation business. “In addition to the delivery of aviation fuels, our offer includes training, refueling equipment and professional services.”

“Air BP will also offer its Sterling Card program to business aviation customers that fly to its network of international airports outside of North America,” added Miguel Moreno, Air BP’s Global Director of General Aviation Services.

Air BP has been a primary supplier to the international general aviation sector for many years and a leader in supplying, operating and supporting a diverse portfolio of valued customers including business aviation operators, private airfields, original equipment manufacturers, FBO’s and emergency services.
