When it is a question of the tightening angle

It is not always necessary to buy a new tool. If a specific tightening angle is required to complete a certain joint, this can now be achieved simply by using a supplementary Angle Module. With its combination of the main tool and the supplementary module, Stahlwille has provided the market with a new, cost-saving solution for angle tightening. Buying  a tool which allows both torque and tightening angle to be set would be considerably more expensive.

Stahlwille, the German tool specialist based in Wuppertal, developed this module for use in combination with its electromechanical torque wrench Model 730D, which is used in the automotive sector, in vehicle repair workshops, the aerospace industry and in engineering and plant manufacturing. If, in these sectors, it is necessary to perform angle controlled tightening, the Angle Module is simply attached to the torque wrench and then removed again after the measurement. In the enhanced software version of the 730D, the corresponding angle function is included.

Using the Angle Module is easy. It is simply attached to the torque wrench tube and connected to the wrench with a jack cable. The Angle Module then switches itself on automatically and begins a tare or reset procedure. After that, the torque wrench itself is switched on and a further tare or reset procedure takes place. Once this process has been completed, the angle mode, angle tightening value, snug point, the desired operating mode and tolerance limits for the angle mode are set.

When the preset snug point is reached, the torque wrench switches over to angle-controlled measurement in degrees. Depending on the options selected, the torque wrench will either cut out when the preset angle is reached or, in the indicating mode, an alarm is heard.

The Angle Module is protected by a design patent.
