Acme Seals Customers and Contacts are again assured that the Acme Bolt Seal retains it's status as fully compliant to IS17712:2010(E) – the published standard.

The Bolt Seal meets in full the physical property requirements and has the 18mm minimum Steel dimension on the Pins and Bushes as required under sections 4.4.3 and 4.4.3.1 Both of these claims are verified by the supporting documents shown on this site in the Certificates section (under the IS 17712 tab)

In respect of the Clause 6 Tamper Testing issue with non-availability of a suitably qualified Test House showing as willing to perform the required tests a letter has been issued by TC104 explaining the current situation. This letter, from the committee with the overall responsibility for IS 17712, confirms the message we posted on this site on 13th February 2012.

We at Acme remain in full agreement with the message that it portrays although it does introduce some terminology that is not evident within the published IS 17712:2010(E).

We believe this has the potential (albeit minimal) to cause confusion amongst users looking for clear instructions so we have decided not to post the TC104 letter here on this site preferring instead to communicate directly with interested parties to give clarity to the present position using only the terminology that does appear in IS 17712:2010(E)
