Automated Technology Group is investing further in the expertise of its employees through the creation of a new role of Training Manager. Andy Osborn has been appointed to this post and took up his new position on 2 January.

After beginning his career in factory automation in the 1980s, Andy ran his own controls company and then moved into education. For the past six years he has been a lecturer at Bedford College, where he was heavily involved in the delivery and management of its engineering apprenticeship provision.

Explains Andrew Robinson, CEO of ATG, “We’re delighted to welcome Andy to the group, where we see his role as vital to our continued success. As well as managing the Autotech Academy, our own apprenticeship programme, Andy will be responsible for identifying the training and development needs of all group personnel – which now number over 400 people – so he’ll be kept very busy.”

Andy Osborn will be based at ATG’s headquarters in Silsoe but will be visiting all group sites regularly.
