Forbo Siegling was presented with the SolVin Award 2013 in silver for its innovative Amp Miser and BioBelt products.

This international competition is held every three years and pays tribute to the most innovative PVC solutions. The award was initiated and provided by Solvin, a joint subsidiary of Solvay (75%) and BASF (25%) and a leading supplier of vinyls. The independent panel of judges consists of specialists from various organisations and disciplines.

The prestigious SolVin Awards were handed out for the fifth time on 22 October. Forbo Siegling took part for the first time and immediately beat 77 other submissions to collect the silver medal. As part of a gala during the K2013 plastics trade show, Claudius Hayduk and Benjamin Kaboré, both from R&D in Hanover, accepted the prize on behalf of the whole company. “The competitors and winners of the SolVin Award prove that the PVC industry offers innovative solutions to global mega trends such as the growing demand for water, energy and efficient use of resources”, explains Solvin CEO Filipe Constant. “They also demonstrate that our industry is providing a reliable and sustainable response to this demand, even in economically challenging times”.

Forbo Siegling employs more than 2,000 people globally in nine production sites and 25 international companies. Forbo conveyor and power transmission belts are used in nearly all industries, but also in the retail and services sectors. Key competencies are the food and packaging industries, logistics and airports, as well as paper, print and raw materials industries. The company was founded in 1919 in Hanover, Germany. Since 1994 the company has belonged to the Swiss Forbo Group. The products have been marketed since 2007 under the brand “Forbo Movement Systems”.
