Baggage Handling Systems at Airports

Recently Vanderlande Industries was awarded the contract to deliver the baggage handling system for Hanoi International Airport’s new terminal 2 in Vietnam. The Japanese main contractor Taisei Vinaconex Joint Venture (TVJV) and consultant JAC as well as the Vietnamese end-user ACV (Airport Corporation Vietnam) all chose Vanderlande’s proposal as the best technical solution.

The new baggage handling system at Hanoi Terminal 2 will consist of:

  • 4 check-in islands with 24 check-in positions each
  • Integration of Customs screening an Security screening up to level 5
  • HELIXORTER tilt tray sorter
  • 4 tilted TRIPLANAR carousels for flight make up
  • 2 Manual Coding Stations
  • 1 Transfer infeed position
  • 6 flat TRIPLANAR arrival carousels with feeding lines
  • Advanced VIBES SAC software
  • VIBES BRS (Baggage reconciliation)

Vanderlande is currently working on several other projects in the South East Asia region. As passenger numbers are rising, the need for new and automated baggage handling systems in South East Asia is met by the competitive and efficient concepts that Vanderlande Industries offers.

Earlier this year Vanderlande won the two other automatic systems in South East Asia, both airports are in Indonesia – namely Kuala Namu International airport in Medan and Sepinggan International Airport in Balikpapan.
