Six TRS have been installed to replace Stavanger Sola’s manual system for handling cabin baggage at the security checkpoint, which involved the time consuming and labour intensive transfer of trays by trolley.
Stavanger Airport’s operator, Avinor’s plan is to use the TRS to improve throughput, improve the passenger and staff experience and reduce costs.
Dubai International Airport, meanwhile, is having 116 TRS installed to speed passenger throughput, reduce queuing and enable security staff to work more efficiently.
They were faced with the challenge of growing passenger numbers and queues forming around the security checkpoint area. Having seen the Stansted operation, Dubai was targeting 350 passengers per hour throughput minimum, but the Herbert TRS has averaged 450 passengers per hour, during an extended trial period running on live passengers, well above expectations and with minimum maintenance and downtime.
