Biral Displays Advanced Meteorological Measurement Systems At Met Tech 2016

Biral, a UK-based leading manufacturer of meteorological sensors and equipment is exhibiting at this year’s Met Tech World Expo in Madrid. The company, which has worked with Met Offices and businesses across the world, has exhibited at the show for many years, where it continues to introduce and display innovative technologies for weather measurement and forecasting.

Met Tech is a worldwide exhibition and gathers together providers of climate, weather and hydro-meteorological forecasting, measurement and analysis technologies.

Biral’s stand will primarily be exhibiting and demonstrating the benefits associated with its SWS and VPF present weather and visibility sensor ranges, as well as the innovative BTD-300 Thunderstorm Detection system.

These systems have been installed across the world in a wide range of applications to provide reliable readings of current weather conditions which enables Met Offices and other operators to report accurate data.

In installing such systems, aspects such as visibility can be reliably monitored, which can play a crucial role in the efficiency and safety of operations. Similarly, the BTD-300 can detect and monitor the distance and speed at which a thunderstorm is travelling to allow personnel to stop operations before any lightning becomes overhead. The system can also track a storm once it has passed the site which enables operations to resume safely and quicker than many other devices on the market allow.

This year the company has received some excellent contracts and projects, including the UK National framework agreement with the Met Office. After rigorous evaluation and field testing against other national and international companies, the Biral SWS-100 visibility sensor was selected to be used as part of the Met Office plans to update the UK’s national measurement network.

The company is also currently working with a number of airports, marinas and offshore operators to supply a range of products that have been chosen based on the requirements of the application.
