Date 06.09.2011

In November 1954, Herbert Franz Bartsch founded a professional journal publishing house and laid the cornerstone for the today’s company. At that time, the main focus was on the publishing of professional journals and forms for automotive industry. The flagship journal of the publishing house was the fortnightly published magazine ‘Autohaus’.

16 years later with the airline industry growing fast, BARTSCH started producing airline tickets using rotary presses. At the time, this production process was unique in Europe.

A number of years later Bartsch started with the production of carbonless copying paper based on gelatine micro capsules. Bartsch produced in-house the coating to be applied to the raw paper and was the first printer to produce carbonless copying paper. During the decades when huge amounts of computer & listing papers were required, Bartsch converted in excess of 60,000 tonnes annually.

Besides various new services including electronic invoices and letters, fulfilment and distribution, the firm is also focused on the development and production of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) products including RFID baggage tags, RFID hang-tags, RFID tickets and other RFID security documents. The development of printed RFID inlays (polymer chips) is a sector where Bartsch's research and development activity is leading the industry. Developments in these sectors are important for Bartsch to be a position to move into completely new business areas.

The company's mission statement is to develop and invest in innovative and ground-breaking technologies on behalf and to the benefit of our customers.
