C.D.R Technology introduces New Combined 270 VDC / 400 Hz Ground Power Unit for Military Aviation.

C.D.R Technology announces the launch of a new combined ground power unit, developed to address the evolving requirements of modern military aviation infrastructure.

As aircraft platforms become more advanced, the demand for both 270 VDC and 400 Hz power has increased significantly. Traditional solutions often require multiple units on the apron, increasing complexity, space requirements and operational risk.

The newly introduced system integrates both power types within a single mobile platform, enabling more efficient and streamlined ground operations.

Designed for applications including fifth-generation aircraft such as the F-35, the unit provides stable and compliant power under mission-critical conditions.

At its core, the system combines high-power DC and AC capability within one architecture, delivering up to 90 kW while supporting independent output operation. This allows operators to adapt to different aircraft requirements without reconfiguring infrastructure or deploying additional equipment.

Compliance with MIL-STD-704F ensures that voltage and frequency characteristics remain within strict limits required by modern aircraft systems. Particular attention is given to power quality, including controlled harmonic behaviour and stable voltage regulation, which are essential for protecting onboard avionics.

The system is engineered for reliable operation in demanding environments, with a wide climatic range from −55°C to +55°C, and is designed for integration into existing infrastructure through standard communication protocols such as SCADA, MODBUS, TCP/IP and RS485. By combining DC and AC functionality in a single unit, the solution reduces equipment footprint, simplifies apron layout and improves operational efficiency.

The introduction of this new product reflects a broader shift in aviation infrastructure towards integrated, flexible and high-reliability ground power systems capable of supporting the next generation of aircraft.
