A more powerful, yet user-friendly, AeroTURN 3.0 offers designers and airport planners enhanced simulation and turning capabilities

Transoft Solutions, developers of industry leading CAD based software for the engineering and architectural communities, announces the launch of AeroTURN 3.0. This new version of Transoft Solutions’ powerful yet user-friendly airside software offers designers, and planners, enhanced simulation and turning capabilities than were available in the previous versions.

“Like AeroTURN Pro 3.0, AeroTURN 3.0 gives designers greater control than previous versions or other software currently available,” said Product Manager, Michael Frost. “We’ve worked to ensure that this version of AeroTURN is the most effective airside aircraft turning simulation and analysis software available.”

Compatible with 32 and 64 bit versions of AutoCAD 2010, MicroStation V8i, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, AeroTURN 3.0 builds on feedback provided by users of the previous versions of the software and extensive field research. The result of this level of development is an AeroTURN software that gives designers the ability to perform more complex simulations with greater reference data.

Complementing the augmented functionality is a major expansion of the aircraft library to include helicopters and new commuter, cargo, and military aircraft. The new aircraft library is scheduled to be released shortly after the launch of AeroTURN 3.0. Additionally, an Install Aircraft function has also been included to give users the ability to download and add aircraft to their existing libraries.

Some of the functionality improvements in the new version of AeroTURN include the ability to simulate maximum effort turns, and be able to engage or disengage main steerable main gear (for supported aircraft models) during forward maneuvers. This feature will give designers better planning control for larger aircraft or tighter space availability. Additionally, designers can get better turn data from the Path Control tools with the View Dynamic Changing Radius function, which allows the user to visually note the change in radius they are performing through editing. This function can deliver the confidence that the user is not exceeding the vehicles turning abilities, even in maximum effort turns.

Along with the enhancements in Path Control is the improved Copy Simulation function, which gives designers the ability to copy the existing simulation (can be on a new layer) and continue driving from the last placed section of a selected simulation or started as a new simulation. This ability can save designers time by allowing them to avoid recreating the simulation and continue working on the pre-drawn simulations.
