Dubai Airport is the first airport in the Middle East and the third in the world to install such an advanced passenger clearance system that considerably accelerates the movement of traffic through electronic screening of passengers’ data with the help of a smart card.
120 Immigration Gates have so far been installed at the airport.
The new system of automated electronic gates not only will speed up the registration of travelers through the airport but will also act as a significant barrier for illegal entrants in to the Emirate.
The electronic gates, utilize the concepts of smart card and fingerprint identification to automate the registration process. This ensures that each person can only enroll once in the system.
