Bombardier Aerospace today announced that it will expand its customer training to the Asia-Pacific region with the addition of a new Authorized Training Provider (ATP) location for Global 5000, Global Express and Global Express XRS business aircraft. The recently announced CAE training program and Level D Full-Flight Simulator (FFS) will significantly boost access to pilot and maintenance training for Global aircraft customers in the region.

The new FFS will be ready for training in 2013 and will be operated by CAE, a global simulation and training leader, with whom Bombardier has been successfully collaborating for several years for the benefit of customers. The simulator’s final location will be announced later.

“Bombardier continues to ensure that our customers around the world have access to the highest level of training and services as close to their bases of operation as possible,” said Éric Martel, President, Bombardier Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft. "This new addition to our ATP network will provide our Global business jet customers in Asia-Pacific convenient access to training in their time zone."

This deployment will significantly boost existing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)-backed pilot training for Global Express aircraft, which is currently offered at Bombardier's training centre in Montréal and at CAE’s flight training facilities in Dallas, Texas, Burgess Hill in the U.K. and in Dubai, U.A.E.

Bombardier boasts a prominent customer services presence in Asia-Pacific. At the end of 2011, Bombardier expanded capabilities at its Sydney, Australia, Regional Support Office (RSO) to include business aircraft in addition to commercial aircraft and opened a new business aircraft RSO in Singapore.

The Singapore RSO works alongside Bombardier’s parts depot and Authorized Service Facilities (ASF) in the area, as well as the company’s RSO and parts depot in Hong Kong, both opened in 2011.

The facilities are part of Bombardier’s global plan to provide international customers with access to regional support services in their own time zones. To that end Bombardier has planned a comprehensive calendar of technical update events in 2012 tailored to operations in
Asia-Pacific.

The Customer Services team recently hosted a large-scale Maintenance & Operations event in Hong Kong. The event was well attended by Bombardier business aircraft operators. The team has also geared up for a Customer Briefing in Shanghai held on March 26-27. The events follow a hugely successful Regional Review for Asia-Pacific based Q-Series operators. The event, held in Sydney, Australia, also drew significant representation from the Q-Series turboprop platform’s customer base. Before the end of 2012, Customer Services will host additional Asia-Pacific Regional Reviews for CRJ series aircraft and Q-Series turboprop operators in November.
