Geneva/Switzerland, April 2010 – Skyguide, the air navigation service provider (ANSP) of Switzerland, has fully accepted and commissioned COMSOFT’s renowned message handling system AIDA-NG on March 23rd. In pre-operational tests the product had successfully demonstrated full compliance to the relevant ICAO SARPs for AMHS, AFTN, CIDIN and ATN Directory services. The operational cut-over of the Swiss system and consequential completion of the border-crossing MESANGE project is a significant stride towards the transition to AMHS in Europe.

This major cooperation project was launched by the ANSP of Switzerland, skyguide, and France's DSNA, who had entrusted the German ATC supplier COMSOFT with the replacement of their former systems. Hence, both organisations received the market-leading messaging solution AIDA-NG – an integrated AFTN/CIDIN/AMHS system – plus the terminal solution CADAS with template-based message generation features for FPL, NOTAM, METEO etc. An identical core system, common requirements and an optimally adapted functionality guarantee interoperability and will facilitate the imminent transfer of bilateral AMHS traffic between the two partner systems. This cut-over is scheduled for later this year.
