Counter Terror Expo

Company Security and Counter Terror Expo 2016
Date 15.09.2014

Counter Terror Expo which was held at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London is the premier international event for bringing manufacturers together with buyers and industry VIPs from across the spectrum of Government, Military, Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, Critical National Infrastructure, Private Sector and the Security Services.

Firmly established as the leading international event of its kind, this year’s show – the 6th edition – saw a 10% rise in pre-registrations compared to 2013. The show opened its doors on 29th-30th April 2014 and despite some severe travel issues caused by the underground strike, welcomed 8,691 visitors, 330 leading counter terrorism and security suppliers and over 250 top industry VIPs.

As one visitor commented, “Counter Terror is an essential day for me. It prepares my business for the year ahead by allowing me to research new products and services as well as getting updated on new legislation. It’s also vital for me to be able to meet other professionals and network to gain new ideas and debate the issues.”

This year, the organisers of Counter Terror Expo, Clarion Events, welcomed Home Secretary Theresa May on the first morning of the show where she was given a full tour of the exhibition and introduced to many of the exhibitors and the wide range of products on display.

Exhibitors themselves were impressed not just by the number of visitors attending but also by the high proportion of decision makers with a genuine interest in sourcing the latest equipment and services. The view of Peter Rogers, CEO of Sentinor, was typical of many of those exhibiting: “The show was fantastic; many of the people that we spoke with during the expo have already been in touch, asking for more information regarding our CobWeb Portfolio and WaterCress products. We’re pressed to keep up!”

Similarly, Synectics who exhibited and sponsored the Integrated Security Zone commented on their success. Natalie Simpson, Marketing Manager at Synectics said: “CTX delivers the exact type of high level decision makers we look to meet and is a very useful annual event for Synectics. CTX is the perfect place to connect with the hard to reach professionals within these niche sectors.”

The show is also famous for its high level diverse educational programme available to help prepare visitors for the year ahead. This year, Counter Terror Expo hosted three dedicated seminar theatres including exclusive product launches and presentations, all located on the show floor. Seminar Theatres included the Security Solutions Theatre, Police, Military and Emergency Response Theatre and International Security for an Evolving World Theatre, all free to attend with a visitor pass.

Another key part of CTX were the feature zones across the exhibition floor including the acclaimed C-IED Feature Zone which showcased advanced threat detection methods, threat handling techniques and threat containment solutions. These zones are helping to mitigate the danger inherent in safe IED disposal and enhance the safety of those engaged in this difficult work.

Other feature zones included the Integrated Security in Action Zone which showcased all the latest CCTV, access point, perimeter protection and control room security technology and the Armoured and Support Vehicle Zone.

Once again CTX hosted an industry leading high profile conference programme with six streams including Global Counter Terrorism, CNI Conference, Securing Public Spaces, Emergency Services, Cyber Security & Electronic Terrorism and Practical Counter Terrorism. The conferences were incredibly well attended by over 550 delegates with presentations from industry leaders including Andrew Erving OBE, Charles Farr, Jamie Shea and Assistant Commissioner Cressida Dick QPM to name a few.

Tim Porter, Managing Director, Clarion Defence & Security, commented: “Counter Terror Expo 2014 was a great success and the feedback we have had from visitors and exhibitors has been outstanding. With so much interest already being shown in the 2015 show, it seems clear that Counter Terror Expo really is the ‘must attend’ event for anyone working in the world of counter terrorism and security.”

Counter Terror Expo was once again co-located alongside Forensics Europe Expo and for the first time, Ambition – the dedicated ambulance and pre-hospital care exhibition. The co-location provided participants with an exclusive opportunity to see the latest technology and techniques for everything from the prevention of terrorist attacks, to the emergency services response when an attack does occur, to the forensic examination of the scene after the event.

Counter Terror Expo will hold the seventh edition of the show on 21st-22nd April 2015 at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London and with planning in full swing, it is looking to once again attract record numbers of top level delegates, industry professionals and leading suppliers within counter terrorism and security, all under one roof. Over 60% of the exhibition space is already filled – if you are interested in meeting top decision makers to grow your business in 2015, make sure to enquire about a space today by visiting www.counterterrorexpo.com/exhibitorenquiry.
