Braunschweig, October 2009 – At the beginning of 2009 delair was awarded the contract for a system to optimise the use of baggage carousels. „sally racetrack“ is a system module of the resource management system family „sally“ which has been applied for several years e.g. at the International Airport Zurich. Since the start of the winter flight plan also the „sally racetrack“ module has been operating effectively.
The system uses the same powerful and fastest algorithm worldwide like the other modules of the “sally” product suite which have proved to be successful. It is highly flexible and distinguishes itself by a user-friendly handling.
For the first time „sally racetrack“ supplies a fully automatic planning of baggage carousels which allows to avoid overload situations. Based on an efficient set of rules „sally racetrack“ provides the possibility to perform an optimum allocation of flights to baggage carousels on the current day. At each point of time these automatic allocations can be controlled manually by the dispatcher.
