In most control rooms there is a requirement to log calls made and received, including radio calls, and various methods have been used over the years.

Troy switches can now optionally include an automatic Call Logging feature. The information to be logged can be specified by the customer, and the log can either remain in the voice switch system or be transmitted to other systems using standard networks.

Typically a telephone call log might include source, destination, ring time, answered or not and call duration. An RT call log might include all positions receiving that call, frequency used and cross-coupled frequencies at that time. Combining this facility with analogue/digital recording of audio allows a complete record of calls to be stored.
