Electric Towing Vehicles for Airports

Company Spijkstaal Elektro B.V.
Date 01.12.2010
The waste collector and processor from Eindhoven has taken three new Ecotrucks 7500 into operation. One vehicle was delivered to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, one vehicle is delivered to city of The Hague and the third vehicle finds its way into the region Mol /Mechelen in Belgium.

The delivery is part of a large order Ecotrucks which will be delivered over a span of two years. The acquisition fits perfectly into the wishes of Van Gansewinkel to switch to sustainable mobility as much as possible. With the commissioning of this truck, Schiphol Amsterdam Airport is the first airport worldwide to collect waste with an electric garbage truck. The Ecotruck has a daily range of approximately 70 km, after eight hours charging. It has a maximum speed of 40 km per hour and there is no special drivers license required. The garbage truck has been developed by the innovative company Spijkstaal Elektro from Spijkenisse (The Netherlands). The vehicle is built according to the cradle-to-cradle principle.
