Emergency Evacuation Airstair System (EEAS)

TEC Hünert uses the former Deerberg compound at the fringe of  Lüneburg to expand, with aim of creating new working places. With 4,000 square meters floor space, the new location provides the ideal preconditions for manufacturing large volume products, such as emergency or passenger stairs.

It is not a simple task to relocate an industrial manufacturing company in operation. The relocation to the new and larger compound was scheduled for autumn but the actual relocation commenced in December only.  Current orders, obligations demanded by public authorities and building alterations in the new hall delayed the relocation.  To realise large projects such as the construction of rescuestairs and handling those projects logically and logistically, well trained staff and special machinery is required as much as suitable production places with sufficient height, cranes, gates and painting systems.  For such projects, the old location Gödenstorf was not anymore suitable since long.  Managing Director Udo Junker stated: “The new area in Melbeck provides sufficient space for growth and allows us to expand our range of products”.

Since more than 30 years, TEC Hünert is partner of almost all large airports in Germany. TEC Hünert was the first manufacturer who has developed, manufactured, and delivered a rescuestair for airport fire fighting departments that was ready for serial production. The rescuestair is used only in emergency cases to rescue passengers from damaged or wrecked airplanes.  Such and other special vehicles are more frequently sought on international markets.  For that reason, international sales were consequently expanded some years ago.

Hünert has manufactured airport ground support equipment, airplane body transport carts and mounting platforms for Airbus since the eighties.  After the TEC group had taken over in 2002, independence was achieved in 2011.  “From a small machine manufacturer company, we have advanced to a worldwide acting manufacturer for airport ground support equipment and special constructions", Udo Junker stated.  Our goal for 2012 is the incorporation of additional product segments and the creation of additional work and training places.
