HAMBURG, Germany, 7th March 2010: The first paperless, or eFreight, cargo shipments have been sent from Hamburg Airport. Emirates SkyCargo last week became the first carrier to send eFreight shipments from northern Germany’s busiest cargo airport. The shipments were bound for Dubai. Emirates SkyCargo will be able to dispatch cargo shipments from Hamburg without the need for paper documents in the future. Documents needed for shippers and customs authorities, such as the air waybill, are no longer printed, but electronically stored and transmitted. Hamburg is Emirates’ third gateway in Germany to be eFreight capable, after Frankfurt and Munich. |
