Ercon supplies 12 large size Frangible FOD Masts to CHANGI AIRPORT

Ercon received a very prestigious order to supply 12 nos of FIBREGLASS Frangible masts for mounting  FOD ( Foreign object detection ) camera  on the mast in the thick of the COVID PERIOD OF summer of 2020. 

The main challenge was very stringent deflection guidelines of less than 0.5 mm at specified wind speeds. ERCON took this challenge and prepared the design which was analysed by a tower company in Singapore for meeting deflection as well as Frangibility criteria by software analysis , who was the partner to ERCON in this project and together the design was finalised and analysed and the design was vetted by CAG AND approved.

The mast was physically tested for wind deflection check and approved by CAG . The 12 Masts of 7 m height with 3mx3 m base  were successfully installed by its channel partner in October – November  2020.
