FCS Finland Provides Eco-Friendly Aircraft Engine Cooling with New AFC-22e System

The ground support solutions company is sharing its latest cooling innovation, boasting advanced features that continue to reduce downtime, costs, and carbon footprint
FCS Finland, a Finnish company that provides ground support solutions to minimize aircraft downtime, has launched an enhanced version of its flagship aircraft cooling system. An upgraded iteration of its original system – the AFC-22 – which first came to market in 2021, the AFC-22e is FCS Finland’s latest and greatest engine cooling technology that takes all of the most cutting-edge features from the first model and incorporates key new additions.
The AFC-22e cooling system provided the same, revolutionary cooling effect as earlier models (AFC-22 and AFC-23 hybrid).
The AFC-22e system introduces following:
- Battery capacity 48V 800Ah
- Lithium-Ion Phosphate (LiFePO4) Rechargeable Battery Pack with Battery Management System
- Operating Time 16 h
- Dry motoring is no longer even required to speed up the engine cooling process, as is the case with many other systems. Because there is no need for dry motoring, it saves the valuable engine air starter units
This product was developed to meet market demands. It offers free movement and offers the possibility of use both inside the hangar and outside on the apron without needing to have an external power available. At the same time, it is quieter than previous models. “We are proud of this product”, says its developer, CTO Pauli Hotanen.
