New CommandKeyboard-Advanced simplifies operator workflows with an integrated SoC, local configuration storage, and a touch display

Siegen, Germany, June 11, 2026 — Guntermann & Drunck (G&D) and VuWall today announced the CommandKeyboard-Advanced, a new operator keyboard that executes control tasks in mission-critical control rooms without requiring a network connection or active software on the host system.

The CommandKeyboard-Advanced combines a keyboard, local configuration storage, and a built-in touch display in a single operator interface. The device features an integrated System-on-Chip (SoC) running an embedded Linux OS, along with a 1,920 × 291-pixel touch display for direct access to key functions without the need for a separate computing unit.

Reducing Complexity at the Operator Station

In modern control rooms, operators must coordinate IT infrastructure, communication platforms, video surveillance, and visualization systems simultaneously from a single workstation. Routine actions — such as selecting a source, changing a layout, or issuing a system command — can require multiple manual steps. In environments where network separation is a security requirement, many conventional control devices are fundamentally unsuitable because they depend on network connectivity or active host software.

“Across control rooms, we are seeing growing demand for intelligent control interfaces to be brought closer to the operator workstation, rather than relying on central servers that may be unavailable in critical situations. CommandKeyboard-Advanced is our answer to this need.” — Mark Schmidt, CTO, Panoptec Technologies Group

Flexible Control for Different Deployment Needs

The device operates in one of three modes depending on requirements. In HID Offline Mode, button keys are configured with hotkeys, macros, and control sequences stored directly in onboard memory — this mode requires neither a network connection nor software on the connected system. In Webpage Mode, any web-based interface can be displayed and operated via the touch display. The device can also be connected directly to a VuWall TRx Server: via VuWall Dynamic Control, operators can then manage sources, destinations, scripts, and video wall previews directly from their workstation.

The CommandKeyboard-Advanced integrates into existing KVM and IT infrastructure; configuration changes can be made without interrupting ongoing operations.

“Every additional step costs time that, in a critical situation, simply isn’t there. The CommandKeyboard-Advanced reduces those steps — without network dependency and without touching the existing infrastructure.” — Andreas Gerlach, EVP Innovation, G&D and VuWall

Availability
The CommandKeyboard-Advanced is available in multiple country-specific keyboard layouts and is expected to ship in Q4 2026. The device was first shown publicly at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2026 in Barcelona and will be showcased at InfoComm 2026, June 17–19, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Booth C8867. Datasheets are available for download at www.gdsys.com. Demos can be booked remotely or on-site at the ControlCenter-Xperience Showroom in Siegen, Germany.
