Geneva Airport has enhanced its noise management capabilities with the installation of a new Casper system.

A workgroup consisting of representatives of the canton Geneva, local communities and the neighbouring French region and Geneva Airport have worked together to specify the modernization of the noise management capabilities. Through a tender process Casper was chosen as the best option for a new innovative and flexible solution.

The airport was provided with the Casper Noise system and new Casper Noise Monitoring Terminals. Casper Noise helps the airport track aircraft operations, monitor procedures followed and analyse any associated noise disturbances

Casper Noise Lab will be provided as a public website supporting the communication with the neighbours. Casper Noise Lab enables sharing of information and providing facts about aircraft movements and noise in an understandable way.

We have chosen CASPER as partner because of their ability to shape their product for our specifics needs. Their skills and flexibility allows to build an efficient solution for us. We are looking forward to fully develop all the potential of this new partnership” Quentin Mathieu, environmental project manager at Geneva Airport.

The Noise Monitors are Casper Noise Monitoring Terminals, based on Cirrus Galactus sound level meters. The NMTs continuously record noise levels and send these to the Casper server in real-time. The Casper proprietary airport noise event detection algorithm is tuned specifically per location to best detect aircraft noise events.

We are extremely pleased to bring modernization to the Geneva Airport noise management capabilities”, according to Heleen Erkamp, CEO at Casper.” We look forward to work together with Geneva Airport and support their noise management ambitions over the coming years”.
