Multiple Contracts

The Manchester Airports Group plc (MAG) is the largest UK-owned airport group and is made up of four airports – Manchester, East Midlands, Humberside and Bournemouth.  Manchester Airport is the international gateway for the North of England and the UK’s largest regional airport handling 22 million passengers a year. More than 100 airlines offer direct flights from Manchester to 225 destinations worldwide, more than any other UK airport.

ServiceTec has delivered maintenance and support services to Manchester Airport since January 1995 when it was awarded support of SITA’s Common Use System (CUTE).  Since then, ServiceTec won support of the replacement system, MUSE, with ARINC in 1998 and as a result of continued customer-focused services, was awarded a new 7 year contract through 2010. ServiceTec’s services have continued to expand and now cover more than 2,400 devices (excluding spares).

In addition to providing IT and desktop support services for a number of airlines, and specialized systems for ground handlers, ServiceTec was also been awarded contracts on a direct basis with Manchester Airport Plc, providing support services for the airport’s latest Self Service Information Kiosks, (designed to help passengers find facilities and transport) and the image capture system installed throughout the airport where passenger access to airside locations is required. 

In addition to supplying the majority of the equipment, ServiceTec also deployed the software onto the system and installed and tested the hardware.

ServiceTec was also recently awarded a contract to install and maintain the IRIS biometric system to assist in the speedy processing of passengers through immigration.
