An important ally in reducing costs
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is the largest and busiest airport in the five-state upper Midwestern region of Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, Wisconsin and North Dakota. Handling over 40 million passengers a year, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is the twelfth largest in the United States and nineteenth largest airport in the world.
Operated by the MAC (Metropolitan Airports Commission), Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport straddles the southern border of the cities of St. Paul, Minnesota and Minneapolis, Minnesota, and is a major hub for both large and small airlines.
ServiceTec first began providing comprehensive level I, II and III support of servers and network management on a range of systems at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in 2001, including INFAX FIDS monitors, Videcom SEATS and IBM CUSS Kiosks, which has since been upgraded to an ULTRA CUSE system. Now that the MAC has taken over the MUFIDS in the Lindbergh Terminal, ServiceTec was selected to provide system administration and hardware maintenance in both terminals, adding more than 600 displays to the ServiceTec portfolio. Since then, ServiceTec has reduced the number of trouble tickets from over 300 per month by more than 200%, has successfully and consistently reduced the number of callouts and has improved SLA compliance with an average response time of under two minutes and an average time to resolution of under 7 minutes.
Additionally, ServiceTec has been awarded a contract to provide the MAC with two Senior Network Support Specialists who work closely with their MAC counterparts to provide network administration and support for the CAD systems for the MAC police and fire departments and for the MAC Landside Network. The success of ServiceTec’s Minneapolis team was cited to the full commission as one of the primary reasons why ServiceTec was selected to provide this additional support. Clearly, the MAC sees ServiceTec as an important ally in reducing costs and providing exceptional service.
