Since 2006 when ITW GSE AXA Power introduced its revolutionary AXA Power Coil, they have sold more than 2000 units to customers around the world. A new version named the AXA 2400 Power Coil is actually on its way to the market.
The AXA 2400 Power Coil works perfectly well with all sizes of bridges and all types of aircraft. Compared to traditional solutions with separate converter and separate cable handling system and all interconnections that it takes, this easy link between the mains supply and the aircraft plug takes up 40% less place. The AXA Power Coil comes in one single enclosure, fully tested from the factory and ready to be mounted underneath the Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB). The Power Coil leaves the bridge and the apron nice, neat and pleasant to look at. Especially when glass PBBs is the preferred solution, the aesthetic aspect is very important, says Vice President, Sales & Marketing Mr. Poul Elvstrøem.
The designation of “…400” signifies that the AXA 2400 Power Coil unit is built on ITW GSE’s common design platform which, among other, includes the ITW GSE icon based User Interface that is just as easy and intuitive to use as your smart phone or tablet. Since the User Interface is common to all ITW GSE’s “…400” product lines, airport staff who are already familiar with one ITW GSE product, can easily operate another as the icons and the display are the same.
Another feature that customer’s do appreciate very much, is the software-based control system that enables updates and additional capabilities to be implemen-ted via a USB key.
INNOVATIVE SOLUTION, BASED ON EXPERIENCE
The AXA 2400 Power Coil offers a highly reliable and robust design including a front plate in stainless steel. The improved cable guidance system ensures easy and smooth cable handling. As a standard, the AXA Power Coil comes with 24 m of cable (useable length). However, the spacious housing has room for at least
28 m cable. After use, the cable is rolled completely into the housing and leaves the apron free and the cable protected.

ITW GSE’s unique, patented Plug & Play compensation system means that users of the AXA 2400 Power Coil benefit from a unique voltage quality at the aircraft plug! The Plug & Play system is based on a true individual phase regulation combined with a predetermined model of the actual cable installation. Therefore, the voltage quality at the aircraft connector is simply the best you can get!

The AXA 2400 Power Coil provides all performance features from the well-known AXA 2400 Compact GPU i.e. the 400% overload at output as a standard. The Power Coil also includes standard overload capabilities that match all types of aircraft even those requiring Power Factor 1 like the B787/A350/A380.
