Saint-Dizier-Robinson Air Base (French: Base aérienne 113 Saint-Dizier) is a front-line French Air and Space Force (Armée de l’air et de l’espace) fighter aircraft base located approximately 4 km west of Saint-Dizier, in the Haute-Marne department of the Champagne-Ardenne region in northeastern France.
The airport is at an elevation of 140 m above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 11/29 with an asphalt surface measuring 2,412 by 45 metres.
Saint-Dizier has a long aviation history, with an early French military aircraft landing close to the city on 11 August 1910. An Armée de l’Air airdrome was established in 1913, which has been in use ever since, being used for combat operations during both 20th-Century World Wars.
The French organisation Service d’infrastructure de la Défense (ESID) has used HAURATON linear drainage systems on a number of projects over the past several years.
During 2021, HAURATON’s FASERFIX SUPER 200 and 300 channel range was selected for surface drainage within military aircraft hangars due to the robust and resistant design of the system, and the capability to withstand ultra-heavy-duty (F 900) loads and dynamic forces imposed at the surface by military aircraft and operations vehicles.
Cast from fibre-reinforced concrete with a durable edge-rail, FASERFIX SUPER has a proven structural design for superior resistance to dynamic forces and extreme loads.
FASERFIX SUPER has a higher specification compared with alternative brands, achieving higher performance and reduced maintenance costs over the project’s life.
- Thicker channel body wall dimensions (up to 10mm thicker compared with alternative brands)
- 40mm deep channel edge-frame and grating (up to 20mm thicker); design resists longitudinal and lateral movement
- Gratings securely fixed with 8 bolts per metre (achieves 16 locking points over one unit for extra strength and safety).
- Innovative bolt design reduces the risk of F.O.D. in airside areas.
- Material resistance to frost, salts, chemicals, extreme temperatures and UV light
- Class 1A (non-flammable) fire rating (DIN 4102)
- Fibre-reinforced concrete with natural ‘basalt fibres’ for additional strength, durability and resistance, as well as being friendly to the environment.
