Fifteen years ago, on November 1, 1996, NAV CANADA was given a mandate to make the Canadian civil Air Navigation System (ANS) work more safely, efficiently and cost-effectively for customers and their passengers.

To date, the Company has seen significant improvements to safety records, has maintained service charges in the face of inflation, and has invested $1.7 billion in new technology, equipment and facilities.

Along the way NAV CANADA has shaped the Canadian ANS into a world-class system earning three International Air Transport Association (IATA) Eagle Awards for the world’s best air navigation service provider – two of them in the past two consecutive years.

NAV CANADA celebrated these achievements on November 1, 2011, and is looking ahead to the next 15 years to delivering safer and more advanced services, and to providing value to customers in Canada and around the world.
