Transeal Security Ltd has launched the defendAir – an electronic tamper evident seal and locking system for airline catering equipment developed in conjunction with multiple airlines’ and their respective operating requirements.

defendAir represents a new approach to cabin security, as any unlawful attempt to access equipment to which it is fitted will be immediately visible and permanently displayed. It is a visible deterrent against organised, opportunist and casual theft, as well as irregular interference.

All door activity information is recorded by date and time and when downloaded it provides a full event report which will assist investigations into any security violation – be it removing items or, at worse planting prohibited items inside. This encrypted evidence will within minutes identify who was in possession of the equipment at the moment of attack, preventing false accusations.

defendAir has a 10-year life, generates a random unique seal number each time it is unlocked, is maintenance free and represents a highly cost-effective alternative to current locking and sealing methods.

Other features include it being user friendly, tested to extreme conditions and has a sales management facility that trends on-board sales activity.

defendAir is approved and certified by EASA for use on all Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
