Inter Airport China

Company Inter Airport China
Date 10.11.2014

inter airport China 2014, which took place from 15 to 17 October in Beijing at the China International Exhibition Centre attracted some 4,500 participants from the airport and aviation industry. Whilst the majority of the attendees to the show were from China, there was a large number of overseas visitors to China’s premium event for the entire airport industry.

A significant trend was the increased presence of Chinese exhibiting companies. Domestic firms continued to account for more than 60% of the floor space at the show, which this year was equipped with larger and well-designed stands. International participation was also strong. This included the national pavilions hosting leading suppliers from Germany (coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology) and from New Zealand (coordinated by the New Zealand Trade and Enterprises).

This year’s highly successful event saw the outdoor stand space increase by over 100%, underlining the increasing global profile of the inter airport brand; a development welcomed by exhibitors and visitors. The outdoor space allowed participating companies to present larger items of airport equipment in a manner that is not possible inside the exhibition hall.

Feedback from many of the exhibitors was very positive. New exhibitors to the event like Daimler and ABB thought the show was “successful” and were “Satisfied with the visitor numbers and quality”. Dieter Heinz, President of GATE (German Airport and Technology and Equipment) said, “Just like inter airport Europe, this event in China has always served as a professional and a niche exhibition for both Chinese and Asian airport professionals”.

Further contributing to the success of the event was the now familiar ‘Meet the Buyers’ programme, which took place during all three days of the show. These sessions provided opportunities for inter airport China participants to attend presentations by senior Chinese government and airport officials outlining details of future investment projects.

Organisations contributing to the programme included the National Development and Reform Commission, Beijing Capital International Airport, Chongqing Airport Group, Liaoning Airport Management Group, Guizhou Qiandongnan Regional Civil Aviation Administration, as well as the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The ‘Meet the Buyers’ programme was well received by firms attending the event. Findlay Irvine, a new exhibitor who also sold one of their machines on the first day of the show added, “The seminars were very useful for international companies like us– please continue to organise them.”

This was the sixth successful inter airport China show organised by UK based Mack Brooks Exhibitions together with its China based partners, China Aviation Supplies Holding Co and China Civil Aviation Technology & Equipment Co Ltd (AVITEC). Preparation has already begun for the 2016 show. inter airport China will take place again in the Autumn of 2016, dates will be announced shortly.
