ITW GSE ships eGPU no 100 from its Danish Facility

Company ITW GSE
Date 03.05.2022

eGPU pioneer, ITW GSE just shipped the 100th battery powered 400 Hz eGPU out of the 90 kVA production line at its DK facility. To celebrate the event, ITW GSE organized a small party for all employees where a traditional birthday cake was served.

TCR, customer for unit no. 100 plus another two units was of course invited for this special event as well. Related to their acquisition, Asset Director Arnaud Dewit said that “lowering emissions and minimizing energy consumption are important parts of its sustainability goals”. And those issues are indeed supported by the environmentally friendly eGPU.

Customers who have already experienced the change from fossil fuel to battery technology are very happy with the change. Beside the obvious reduction in  carbon emissions by 90%,  customers also appreciate the efficiency of the eGPU and the cleaner ramp environment including a reduction of the noise around the aircraft.

When it comes to economy, the eGPU also outperforms its diesel counterpart. Based on 5 hours of operation daily, the energy savings amounts in approx. 32.000 EUR per year by switching to battery GPUs.  Out of these reasons, ITW GSE is not surprised to see that many customers are repeat ones.

ITW GSE offers battery GPUs for all types of commercial aircraft. The battery units are versatile as they can be used wherever there is a requirement for 28 VDC or 400 Hz power; in hangars and at remote areas.  They arrive fully tested, ready for immediate operation and hold sufficient power for 9 to 15 turnarounds on a single charge, subject to aircraft type and configuration. When recharging is required, no need to search for any special power source. The on-board charger simply allows recharging from the nearest 50/60Hz socket. That’s flexibility!

So far, more than 150 eGPUs from ITW GSE are in use all over the world.
