Jet Aviation strengthens its image in Singapore with a Megadoor vertical lifting fabric door from ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems

Jet Aviation, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, was founded in 1967. The company has since grown into a world leader in maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, which it provides to a wide range of business aviation customers.

One major focus for Jet Aviation is the increasing number of private jet owners, a customer group that is growing most rapidly in Southeast Asia. In order to serve these customers better, the company decided to expand its facility at Singapore’s Seletar Airport by adding a new and state-of-the-art hangar.

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems provided

For the door of the new hangar, Jet Aviation chose a Megadoor vertical lifting fabric door from ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems. Comprising five sections and measuring 94.0 x 13.5 m, its door leaves are made of white translucent PVC fabric, which has a clean, attractive appearance and lets in natural light. The metal parts are provided to an enhanced finish that resists corrosion.
Built into the bottom-center section of the door is a so-called Crawford Style solid panel, whose aluminum composite construction gives it a heavier appearance. Incorporated into this panel are two pass doors, which allow personnel to enter and exit the hangar without opening the hangar door itself.
