Jet Fuel and Avgas Filtration and Separation Specialist

Company Velcon
Date 24.01.2011

Velcon Filters, LLC will exhibit at the upcoming Cygnus Aviation Expo in Las Vegas. The tradeshow will take place on February 23-25, 2011, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

FDPM® (Flow Differential Pressure Module)

Velcon's FDPM® (Flow Differential Pressure Module) demo unit will also be available at the show. The FDPM® (Flow Differential Pressure Module) unit automatically calculates the corrected differential pressure across a filter vessel, per ATA 103. The condition of the filters inside the vessel is automatically determined, based on the differential pressure, the actual flow rate and the rated flow of the specific vessel. This allows for a continuous monitoring of performance of filters/coalescers on refuelers as well as at tank farms/pipelines.

In addition to this exciting new technology, Velcon has recently produced two new posters, an Apache, and an F-35, which will be introduced at their booth. The posters are the latest in a long tradition of Velcon posters, and they are available at no charge.

VCA® (Velcon Contaminant Analyzer)

Velcon, booth number 1604, will be exhibiting the latest VCA® (Velcon Contaminant Analyzer) and VCA-CV sensor equipment at the show. This state of the art equipment measures water and solids simultaneously and real-time within a fuel stream. In March 2010 Velcon participated in the Aviation Information Technology, Engineering and Management Conference (AITEM2010), presenting a technical paper: "State-of-the-Art Real-Time Jet Fuel Quality Measurement". In this paper, the use of this new type of laser sensing system designed specifically for the needs of aviation fuel quality is described. Limitations of similar technology created for other industries and applications are also discussed. The authors show how Velcon's VCA® (Velcon Contaminant Analyzer) technology meets the requirements for the simultaneous determination of contaminants and water in jet fuel. The paper will soon be published in the International Journal Aviation Information Technology, Engineering and Management (IJATEM).
