Air France-KLM publishes its sixth annual sustainable development report

For the sixth year running, the Air France-KLM Group today published its annual sustainable development report presenting the Group’s strategy and actions aimed at:

  • combating climate change,
  • minimizing its environmental impact,
  • building a sustainable relationship with its customers,
  • promoting a responsible human resources policy,
  • contributing to local development.

Air France-KLM continues to make every effort to reduce its environmental footprint and foster social development, despite a difficult economic context.

“Aware of the important role air transport plays in global exchanges, Air France-KLM fully assumes its environmental and social responsibilities. The Group must remain firmly committed to sustainable development initiatives to pursue this vital role”, stated Pierre-Henri Gourgeon, CEO of Air France-KLM.

Peter Hartman, President and CEO of KLM, added: “We are one of the most committed actors in the air transport sector hen it comes to fighting climate change. We continue to push for collective responses to limit CO2 emissions”.

In order to do so, Air France-KLM has called on the United Nations to include international aviation in a specific agreement, and continues to pursue its fleet upgrading policy, optimize flight procedures, support research into climate change, finance the fight against deforestation and contribute to the development of sustainable bio-fuels.
