LFV Aviation Consulting - Operates as a fully independent international civil aviation consultancy

Company LFV Aviation Consulting
Date 21.01.2011

A Burundian-Swedish consortium will deliver a master plan to upgrade national civil aviation services, the capital’s international airport and regional airports in the Central African state of Burundi. “The contract represents a break-through for Swedish investments in the country,” states Lasse Håkansson, managing director for LFV Aviation Consulting, the project partner.

The contract was successfully tendered with international competitors as bidders and is entirely financed through Burundi’s national budget. The work dedicated to the master plan signifies the first phase in a wider investment programme which will be defined and procured with regard to the commercial operation and management of Burundi’s airports. These successive projects will be subsequently under tender and can be objects for international bank financing as well as aid.

Since 2007 Burundi is listed as one of Sweden’s International Development Agency’s target countries in Africa. A four-year financial plan has been implemented from 2009 for broad development in socio-economic issues as well as the promotion of trade and investments.

Burundian and Swedish business interests have incorporated a joint venture enterprise called Burundi Investment Agency s.a., whose role it is to carry out assignments and investments, as well as lead and perform the quality assurance monitoring of the results of such assignments and investments.

LFV Aviation Consulting is a consulting firm within air traffic control services and airport services, with broad and significant experience on the global market. Burundi Investment Agency s.a. and Swedish LFV Aviation Consulting AB shall perform the assignment together in the country. The contract represents a break-through for Swedish investments and personnel training in Burundi and is a crucial reference assignment for future commercial projects in the region. The development phase up to the signing of a business agreement is the result of the Burundian-Swedish joint venture enterprise, Burundi Development Group s.a.’s  (BDG) ground work.
