Lloyds British becomes Latchways Registered Installer

Lloyds British the International industry leader for lifting, inspection and testing has partnered with leading fall protection company, Latchways plc, to become a Registered Installer of Latchways fall protection equipment.With over 200 years of experience, Lloyds British is the specialist in lifting equipment, testing, inspection and certification. Today, the company operates in over 24 locations globally—12 of those being in the UK—across numerous sectors including Utilities, OGPE and Renewables. With all their Engineers LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) certified, Lloyds British is an organisation synonymous with high standards.

Founded in 1974 in Calne, Wiltshire, Latchways is a manufacturer of fall protection products and systems for working at height, and is acknowledged as the first company to develop and market engineered cable-based fall arrest systems. With a commitment to putting engineering innovation at the heart of its business, Latchways has grown to become a global leader in its field.

Over 100 people are employed at the company’s HQ in Devizes (and 240 in the group), a purpose built-facility that offers production capacity, product research and development including on site testing and training. The company also opened a base in the US in 2014. It supplies fall protection systems across diverse sectors including utilities, construction, oil and gas, aerospace and construction. Recently acquired by MSA Safety, the business is now going from strength to strength, and is set to see impressive growth over the coming years.

Of course, not only will we now be able to supply product, but also offer the servicing and re-certification of them. Moving forwards, Lloyds British will be supplying a number of Latchways’ fall protection systems suitable for industrial environments including: Horizontal and Vertical cable-based lifelines for applications such as overhead cranes, quay cranes and plant access. They will also be supplying the MSA Latchways Personal Fall Limiters (PFLs) and Self-retracting lifelines (SRLs) for use in the OGPE and marine industries. To complete their already extensive line of PPE, Lloyds British will also for the first time be able to offer the latest in self-rescue, with the MSA Latchways Personal Rescue Device.
