Worldwide baggage systems integrator, Daifuku ABH (Airport Baggage Handling) has opened sales and service delivery offices in Reigate, in the south east of England, aimed solely at supporting major and regional UK airports.
The offices will be staffed with baggage handling designers, project managers, engineers and sales support personnel from Logan Teleflex. The nationwide team offers a full capability in the design, integration, operation, delivery and maintenance of quality baggage handling system (BHS) solutions to meet UK requirements.
The company has announced that its substantial investment in the new infrastructure, which is an extension of Logan Teleflex’s International sales and manufacturing facility in Hull, is designed to forge closer and stronger relationships with all UK airports and offer additional services such as a comprehensive O&M service delivery.
Ron Osborne, Director and General Manager of Daifuku ABH’s UK arm, commented: “We are a world class baggage systems integrator and have built a wealth of knowledge and understanding of all aspects of operating and maintaining baggage handling systems for UK airports.”
He added: “At the forefront of our dedicated sales team is new UK Sales Director Phil Taylor, who has joined us from Cofely UK, where he was Airport Accounts Director responsible for commercial and business development, especially in Operations and Maintenance (O&M). “
The investment by Daifuku’s ABH Division in changing/ repositioning its own infrastructure to suit the needs of UK airports comes at a time of increased passenger numbers in Britain. Last year, UK airports handled 1.4 million more passengers than in 2011, according to recent figures released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and this number is expected to be even larger for 2013.
Daifuku ABH Division in the UK will help these airports to support increases in passenger bags with its wealth of know how in designing, implementing and operating quality baggage handling solutions.
