losberger-olympic-games-1On behalf of the Olympic Committee, the project consortium constructed one of the largest Olympic clusters in Deodoro, northwest of Rio de Janeiro.

Losberger tents are standard fixtures at leading sports events around the world. They were also to be seen at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Together with the Arena Group, Losberger was commissioned with the construction of 40,000 m² of tents, with spans of between 3 and 30 m, for eleven venues at the Deodoro site. The tents were used to provide accommodation for athletes, as break rooms, canteens, offices, technology centres and even serve as security gates for team buses, etc. In addition to the 536 tents, the consortium supplied and installed approximately 10,000 bucket seats for the stands in the stadiums.

Within the consortium, Losberger was responsible for full installation, which included air conditioning, electricity, and fittings such as floor covers, doors, etc. As many as 120 technicians and assistants at one time were employed to ensure handover on schedule. They performed their tasks reliably and professionally, while demonstrating the flexibility required to cope with the repeated challenges on the sites.

In addition to the event sites, Losberger and Arena also provided temporary rooms for sponsors, and the Austria House. Facilities also extended to the event units in the German pavilion, where anyone was welcomed to celebrate and network. More than 1,000 people took advantage of this opportunity on each of the event days from Thursday to Sunday.
