More efficiency and lower costs in baggage logistics

At inter airport Europe from 7 to 9 October 2025 in Munich, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will be exhibiting together with the Gate Alliance as a solution provider for airport logistics (Hall B5, Stand 1360-9). The manufacturer will present drive solutions that are specifically tailored to the industry’s demands, including modular drive systems from the LogiDrive solution space, the DuoDrive and decentralised frequency inverters such as the NORDAC ON, NORDAC LINK and NORDAC FLEX. 

In airport logistics, baggage items of different weights often have to be transported over long distances: This places very specific demands on the drive technology. NORD offers system solutions from the LogiDrive solution space that are specifically optimised for applications such as tray, belt or roller conveyors. The product range is characterised by its low weight and compact installation space, with various versions offering individual benefits.

“LogiDrive Advanced and LogiDrive Advanced with DuoDrive are especially advantageous in large conveyor systems with numerous drive units”, explains Jörg Niermann, Head of Marketing at NORD. “The highly efficient drive solutions not only enable significant energy savings but also reduce CO₂ emissions.” Additionally, the reduction of various drive variants helps minimise administrative costs while streamlining production, logistics, storage and service processes. 

Overview of LogiDrive variants

• LogiDrive Basic consists of an IE3 asynchronous motor, a decentralised NORDAC ON frequency inverter and a gear unit from NORD. This combination impresses with low investment requirements and a wide adjustment range.
• LogiDrive Advanced includes an IE5+ synchronous motor, the decentralised NORDAC ON+ frequency inverter and a gear unit from the manufacturer’s portfolio. With its IE5+ synchronous motors, the manufacturer surpasses the efficiencies of the currently highest defined efficiency class.
• LogiDrive Advanced with DuoDrive consists of the DuoDrive geared motor and a decentralised NORDAC ON+ frequency inverter. The integrated DuoDrive gear unit/motor concept combines the IE5+ motor with a single-stage helical gear unit in one housing, achieving one of the highest efficiencies on the market in this power class.

Decentralised frequency inverters NORDAC ON, NORDAC LINK and NORDAC FLEX

With its decentralised frequency inverters featuring an integrated multi-protocol Ethernet interface, NORD offers versatile solutions for virtually any drive application. The decentralised inverters cover a power range from 0.25 to 22 kW. In addition, NORD offers centralised control cabinet inverters.

NORD ECO service
The NORD ECO service analyses installed drives with regard to energy efficiency, dimensioning and number of variants. Based on this analysis, NORD develops an energy efficiency concept that is specifically tailored to the requirements of the respective application.
