Minister of Economic Affairs visits NORD DRIVESYSTEMS in Bargteheide

Dialogue between politics and industry

A visit to the region’s industrial key players: On his tour of Schleswig Holstein’s manufacturing industry, the Minister of Economic Affairs Claus Ruhe Madsen also made a stop at the drive technology experts from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS in Bargteheide. Among others, the constructive dialogue concerned the question under what conditions successful operation at the North German location is possible in the long term.

“I am delighted to be at NORD DRIVESYSTEMS in Bargteheide today – a successful and world-leading drive technology company with its origins in Schleswig-Holstein!”, Claus Ruhe Madsen greets. The Danish-German entrepreneur and non-party politician has been Minister of Economic Affairs, Transport, Employment, Technology and Tourism of Schleswig-Holstein’s state government since June 2022. Claus Ruhe Madsen used his visiting tour of the local manufacturing industry to meet the industry’s key players and get an impression of their wishes and demands to politics.

In Bargteheide, the Minister of Economic Affairs had the opportunity to have a constructive exchange with the management and employees of NORD DRIVESYSTEMS. A tour of the production halls also provided insight into the company’s practices. Among others, the industry-driven assembly in plant 8 and the new automated small parts warehouse underlined the innovative strength and international competitiveness of the North German specialist for drive technology.

Finally, the NORD management expressed three ideas to Claus Ruhe Madsen to be considered for future political work: In order to continue being successful in Schleswig-Holstein, there is a need for qualified employees, attractive framework conditions regarding production costs and a reduction of bureaucratic effort, for example in connection with sustainability reporting (CSR reporting obligation) or the Supply Chain Act (LKSG).
